"Our Concern"

"Our Concern"

Most Electricity is produced from coal, Oil, natural Gas and Uranium. Exploitation and conversion of these energy sources to electricity is polluting our local environment, changing the Earth's climate, destroying fragile ecosystems, endangering human health and violating human rights. Furthermore, more than half the energy embodied in these resources is lost as "Waste Heat" in the combustion process. Global Warming is happening now, but it is not too late to start changing our course. We can dramatically reduce our dependence on unacceptable sources of energy by reducing our consumption and producing energy with cleaner, environmentally benign technologies. Energy efficient technologies and appliances are currently available, and economically viable, to help break our addiction to fossils fuels. There are also many common sense behavior changes that can be employed to reduce our personal energy consumption. By reducing demand and increasing supply we can make electricity both affordable and sustainable over the next millennium.
